You can get to Nizhny Novgorod by plane or by train
Nizhny Novgorod is served by the Strigino International Airport (IATA: GOJ, website: http://goj.aero/en). Very few direct international flights are available, so the majority of the participants will have to take a transfer flight in another Russian city. The recommended flights are:
From Moscow, Sheremetyevo (SVO):
Aeroflot flights SU-1222 (23:50–01:00), SU-1228 (06:05–07:20), SU-1220 (09:55–11:10), SU-1226 (16:30–17:50), SU-1224 (18:30–19:45), SU-1340 (20:15–21:35)
From Moscow, Domodedovo (DME):
S7 Airlines flights S7-11 (01:15–02:25), S7-3 (08:35–09:45), S7-5 (13:15–14:25), S7-1 (19:15–20:20)
The participants are highly recommended to book international air tickets in advance.
Intercity trains arrive at the Nizhny Novgorod Railway Station. Train tickets can be bought from the RZD Russian Railways website: https://pass.rzd.ru/main-pass/public/en. If you travel from Moscow, choose MOSKVA as the departure station and NIZHNIY NOVGOROD (MOSKOVSKIY VOKZAL) as the arrival station.
Train tickets can be bought not earlier than 60 days before the trip. The list of recommended trains will be added as soon as the information on the trains becomes available. The train trip from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod takes around 4 hours.
Transfer to boat
The boat departs at 12:00 (noon) on June 28 from the Nizhny Novgorod River Station (Nizhny Novgorod, Ploshchad' Markina, 15A). The boarding for the participants will be open from 9:00 a.m. on the same day.
You can reach the River Station by taxi.
We strongly advise that you have an adequate margin of time for transfer after your arrival in Nizhny Novgorod.
